Located 100 meters from Rwandan Adventures, INZU Lodge offers free WiFi and private parking in Gisenyi. Each unit features a terrace with lake views. The luxury tent serves American, continental, vegan, and vegetarian breakfast options daily, along with European, American, and local dishes in the in-house restaurant. The garden and lake views provide a relaxing atmosphere, near Viewpoint (500 meters) and Lake Kivu beach (200 meters).

I was thrilled with every detail of my stay at INZU – the gardens were gorgeous, teeming with amazing birdlife, and the tent was beautifully decorated with a bed that felt incredibly cozy. The staff were wonderful, especially Thierry, who surprised me with his deep knowledge of local birds; I only wish I could have stayed longer. Everything was flawless.

The view when you wake up was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and the reception staff were helpful. The food was tasty, though service was slow. The reception area looked nice and the free water was a nice touch. Unfortunately I left with a lot of bites on my body, and the rooms aren’t soundproof, so it can get a bit noisy at times. The last 100 m to the entrance is a tricky drive – it’s steep and stony, so you’ll need a good car.

The location is really lovely. The whole property is well‑maintained and very clean. The garden is beautifully laid out with many chirping birds. The restaurant is recommended, and as usual in this country the staff are very friendly. At the reception you can buy handmade souvenirs to support the local community. We stayed in a small cabin that was very cozy. The outdoor bath with a compost toilet did its job perfectly. This place truly deserves the name “eco‑lodge.” The driveway is quite steep, and a few things like door handles need fixing.

The building is eco‑friendly and the design is really cool. From the top of the property you can see a lovely view among flowers and trees, overlooking the lake. The restaurant is good and we had a delicious pizza while sitting by the campfire. The grounds are steep, so it’s not easy for those who aren’t in good shape. The loose stones that cover the walkways are uneven and make climbing to the top harder. The bed had a solid cement base and a hard mattress, so I didn’t sleep well. Also the outdoor toilet might not suit everyone.

The lodge is a very charming spot by Lake Kivu. The staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was great. I liked the eco‑lodge ethos. During my two‑day stay the lodge lost electricity and water several times. I understand this might be linked to its ecological energy and plumbing systems, but it was quite inconvenient as a guest.
