Pousada Potigua in Maricá offers direct beachfront access, a sun terrace, and lush garden, along with a year-round outdoor swimming pool and on-site restaurant and bar. Rooms feature air-conditioning, private bathrooms, and garden or sea views, with balconies, minibars, and free WiFi. A buffet breakfast is served daily, and the restaurant offers pizza, local, and Brazilian cuisines, near Ponta Negra Beach and Brazilian Volley training sport center.

The pousada is pretty, the breakfast is excellent, the proximity to the sea is a highlight, the pool is adequate for a refresher, and the staff are very attentive and professional. The weak points are: the bathroom inside the room is poorly designed, as both the toilet and shower are separated from the rest of the room by only a narrow, semi‑transparent, open‑top box, without proper ventilation. Imagine the awkwardness of being accompanied and needing to use the bathroom for number 2… Every time someone needed to use the bathroom we had to leave the room for more privacy. The wifi also didn’t work, limiting the use of the television available in the room. The restaurant and bar options are reasonably far. Ideal for those who want to stay more isolated and enjoy the pousada itself.

Calm environment, great food! I had to pay 200,00 for a towel because it got stained with hair dye, and it wasn’t even a big stain. If you soak the towel you can usually remove the stain easily. I wasn’t the one who lost it, so I’ll never return! 😔 Regrettable!
