We spent one night at Nassau Guest Farm and were absolutely blown away by it! The farm grounds feature several small cottages, all situated just a few meters apart. Our cottage likely dated back to 1680, making it one of the oldest of its kind available for rent in this area. It has been lovingly renovated and equipped with modern amenities: a fridge, air conditioning, spotlights to highlight the beautiful old thatched roof, and USB-C ports for charging smartphones directly without an adapter, among other things. In short, you get to sleep in a historic building while still enjoying the benefits of modern technology - it’s perfect! We were greeted with welcome drinks upon arrival, and the next morning, we enjoyed a beautifully presented breakfast brought personally to our cottage by the owner, Lynette - so there was no need to walk to a separate breakfast room. Lynette’s husband also owns a collection of vintage cars housed in a barn right on the farm premises. We were given an impromptu tour by the owner himself, and it was fascinating even for those who aren't car enthusiasts. We also received plenty of valuable tips on where to shop and dine in Stellenbosch and Cape Town. After our night at Nassau Guest Farm, we drove to Cape Town and spent two more nights there. Had I known beforehand just how fantastic Nassau Guest Farm was, we would have simply stayed there for all three nights and taken day trips to the Cape of Good Hope, Table Mountain, and other sights from there. After all, you feel much safer there than in Cape Town. If we ever travel to South Africa again, we would love to come back!

“A Stellenbosch gem”
I loved the location and the comfortable accommodation. The personal attention from the host was very much appreciated. They were always willing to provide advice or to make arrangements if required. The breakfasts were delicious and generous. While the breakfasts were beautifully presented, substantial and delicious, it did come with a lot of packaging. If a way could be found to cut down on the amount of plastic being used to wrap the food, that would improve the experience for environmentally conscious guests
