The Cityhotel Ratheiser is a stylish and traditional hotel in the centre of Klagenfurt, only a few minutes’ walk from the major sights. The listed building was constructed in 1760. The 2 stone lions at the entrance are silent witnesses of the past, once being part of the eastern gate of Carinthia’s capital. The charming Cityhotel Ratheiser offers a rich breakfast buffet, an exclusive tea parlour and a well-stocked wine cellar. An internet terminal is available at the reception.

A small, very friendly hotel filled with quirky collectibles from the late owner, now lovingly managed by his granddaughter—an incredibly kind and hardworking boss who comes highly recommended. There is no air conditioning, but that’s not a problem, and while the rooms are a bit dated, the furnishings remain solid and high‑quality.

I absolutely loved everything here; the staff truly care for you. I was lucky enough to stay in the Salon Maria Anna, and wow—describing it feels impossible. As I write this, I realize I rarely call a hotel a “experience,” but this one was! Bridgette, who showed me to my room, opened the door and I was in awe, then she revealed a door from the bathroom that led to a dining area and kitchenette—felt like royalty. Breakfast was perfect, with a flawlessly cooked soft‑boiled egg. I can’t wait to return for a longer stay; I absolutely adored my time here. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the center, and buses are only steps away. Oh! The owner is very thoughtful; I mentioned I had no more pods in my room, so I was using the Nespresso downstairs, and she made sure to restock me. Bridgette had loads of great recommendations for things to see and do. I felt very valued and didn’t want to leave. The only thing is that I had to leave— I miss it already!

The location, the old‑style charm, and the very friendly and attentive boss were all positives. The downside is that if you arrive by car you must remember that the area around the hotel is a short‑term parking zone, and there is a paid parking spot nearby.

I was treated exceptionally well and was able to enjoy a quiet apartment with a kitchen. The proximity to an affordable parking spot on Kraßniggstraße was very convenient.

Ich habe in Klagenfurt, im Hotel Ratheiser, zwei Tage uebernachtet und ich bin sehr froh darueber, ueber die bekommene Wohnung, statt ein Einzeln-Zimmer!Die Frau, die das Hotel menagiert, ist sehr nett, freundlich und aktiv.Das Hotel ist in sich selbst eine "Kleine Nachbildung/ reproduction in small format"der keiserlichen Residenzen in Wien: man findet,unter anderen, "Das Maria Theriesia Zimmer","Das Franz Joseph Zimmer" und "Das Sissi Zimmer".Es scheint, deshalb, nicht nur in einem Hotel in Klagenfurt zu sein, sondern, indirekt,in einem Museum.Komplimente ! In jedem Zimmer des Hotels gibt es ein "Willkommen Flyer"mit den geschriebenen Hotel-Regelungen und mit den wichtigen Informationen ueber Klagenfurt auf Deutsch und Englisch. Io ho pernottato a Klagenfurt nell'Hotel Ratheiser due notti e sono molto felice del fatto che invece che ricevere la stanza prenotata, ho ricevuto un appartamento!La signora menager dell'Hotel è molto cordiale, amichevole ed attiva.L'hotel è in sè stesso una riproduzione in piccolo delle residenze reali a Vienna:si trovano, tra le altre, la "Camera di Maria Teresa",quella di Franz Joseph e di Sissi.Sembra,di conseguenza, non soltanto di trovarsi in un hotel, ma, indirettamente, in un museo.Complimenti !Ogni stanza dell'hotel è fornita di "Flyer di Benvenuta-o" con le regole dell'hotel. I was guest in the hotel Ratheiser for two nights and I'm really happy about the fact that I received, instead than the booked roon,one apartment. The lady menager of the hotel is really nice and active. The hotel, in itself, is one small representation of the Royal residences in Vienna.There there are, among others :the "Maria Theresia"'s room, the "Franz Joseph"'s room and the "Sissi"'s room. It looks like, as consequence, not only one Hotel in Klagenfurt, but, indirectly, one small museum. Compliments!
