The best accomodation so far in Romania after 10 days: quiet, pretty place with absolutely everything you need: fully equiped kitchen, Big room with private bath, nice patio and private parking. Closed to Potoc and the natural park where you can enjoy beautiful easy hikes to Blue Eye Lake or some waterfalls. The roads nearby are rural badly maintained ones but ant car can go by. Only be prepared to Drive slowly

“exceptional”

Ospitatlitatea gazdei exceptionala. Curatenie, liniste, bucatarie dotata cu tot ce este necesar. Parcare securizata. Doar o recomandare: un covoras antiderapant in cada de baie ar fi util. Drumul de acces este 'praf', dar asta nu e vina proprietarului. Poate se va rezolva intr-un termen rezonabil

The place was quiet, clean, and the owner was friendly, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The drive from Oravita to Socolari was an adventure through potholes, and getting to the accommodation in Socolari involved an unpaved stone road where parked cars were an obstacle; only off‑road vehicles could pass safely without risking damage to the chassis or tires. When we arrived, only cold water was running, and we had to locate the key to the gate ourselves on departure.

“Ne-a plăcut cazarea și o recomandăm din cauza proprietarului plăcut”

The private parking, nice courtyard, and kind owner were positives, but the roads from Oravița to Socolari are in such bad condition that we no longer want to visit the area. Tourism professionals everywhere should petition authorities because it’s unacceptable that instead of returning relaxed from a holiday, you leave nervous or with a wrecked car. I haven’t seen such potholes in at least 20 years on public roads in the country; it’s sad what’s happening in that region.
