I had no positive comments, but the hotel told me after booking that there would be live entertainment on the night I was staying, which was inconvenient.

I found a great value room in the center of Shrewsbury, and they upgraded us free of charge to an ensuite. The location and value for money were the best aspects. Breakfast was cooked on site, which was pretty good for the price. The room and bathroom were spacious. The décor felt a bit rough around the edges, but overall it was better than I expected.

The staff were helpful, and the room was decent for the price, though getting in required climbing stairs. There was no parking at the hotel, so we had to walk uphill from the outdoor carpark for 10–15 minutes, which was tough with bags, especially for older guests.

I stayed for three nights and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. From the moment we stepped in, the staff were friendly and chatty, explaining everything about the stay, the fire exits, and what to do in case of fire. The room was lovely and the bed super comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and catered to every need, offering everything you could want, and the evening meals were great too, with a 2 for £20 deal that was a bargain. I can’t fault this place; it made our stay outstanding. The biggest highlight was the old post office vibe, where the staff and owners make you feel welcomed.
