Located in Chiang Mai, POR Daowadung offers accommodation 700 metres from Chiangmai Gate and 1000 metres from Thapea Gate. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a shared lounge, and a garden. Each room has a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a private bathroom, balcony, air conditioning, and shared bathroom. A buffet breakfast is available daily, and free WiFi is available throughout the property.

The common areas and pools were spectacular, the surroundings were wonderful, and the staff—especially at the pool, restaurant, and transport (tuc tuc)—were charming and very friendly. However, the bed mattress was very worn and old; I asked for a replacement or a room change, but they only added a little padding. The mattresses need to be replaced; they don’t match the hotel’s price. If the room is on the ground floor, it’s impossible to sleep because there’s a pond next to the window, and at night it’s full of frogs (ask before booking). We stayed six nights without sleeping well, using earplugs. I understand the beauty of the setting, but putting a pond next to a guest’s window, knowing the nighttime issue, isn’t a good idea.

Free washing machine and dryer, free tea and biscuits, free water bottles, plenty of outlets, great location, and very comfortable beds!
