The location was fine. I didn’t like that there was no privacy door between the unit and the main house, so the owner could walk in at any time. Also, it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous renters: no clean towels, a dirty towel on the floor, and toilet paper stuck to the bathroom mirror. I messaged the owner but didn’t receive clean towels until 10:15 pm.

The location was great for anyone passing through Winnipeg by car and heading the next day in either direction, but parking was very difficult. The host was very busy with guests when I arrived, so I can’t blame him, but I would have liked a host to walk me through the premises and show me where everything was. Also, there was no coffee; the host should explain how things work since it’s in his house.

The owner called me a couple of hours before check‑in asking me to cancel because the place wasn’t ready. It was non‑refundable, so I told them I couldn’t cancel without losing my money, and I asked for a refund since it was their request, but I received no reply or money back. That feels like a scam. Still waiting for a resolution.

The spot was spot on, right in the middle of the action, but the bedroom could have used a chair.

Quiet, safe suburbia location on the edge of the city in a basement suite of a nearly new home. Bed is a double and comfortable enough. Some basic kitchen items and a small fridge, microwave and hot plate and a few things like dishes and cutlery. 3 coffee pucks and powdered creamer. 1 water and a can of coke provided to. Very low price. Nice owner. Good tub with a shower head but the switch on the faucet to divert the water to the shower needs to be fixed. The bedding is only a bottom sheet and very light comforter. No top sheet. So seems sparse. The plug-in room freshener smells are a bit overwhelming but we just unplugged it. The couch is the only place to sit and the legs are missing so a bit odd. Ask where you should park, especially if you have a big pickup truck. All these things I mentioned are easily corrected by the owners and aren’t so bad. If in a reply they mention to correct some of these minor things I would totally recommend their accommodation
