ATB Hostel

The ATB Hostel isn’t even available right now because the electricity supposedly isn’t working, so after the initial shock I was moved to the Apollo Hostel, which belongs to the same owner. I was given a room with air conditioning, which I was very happy about because it’s so hot in Lovina. Renting a scooter was no problem at all. From there I booked a day trip to Menjangan where I went diving and also discovered the horses on the island. I booked a dolphin tour at 6 am directly from the hostel, but I won’t do it again because it’s just insane to send so many boats to the same spot to watch dolphins. But I liked it… Kadek, the owner, really tries hard to show people around. He taught me how to play Dominoes. On the last evening I booked a massage; the masseuse came straight to the hostel. It was an absolute dream! A highlight was the breakfast lady – she’s super nice and made me feel very comfortable. She washed my laundry, which smelled great, and that made my stay even more pleasant. She even brought me fruit from her home. I’ll miss her a lot.

“A great and peaceful place with an amazing host!”

The location is basically in the center yet still quiet and peaceful. The owner is such a nice and lovely guy; he cared about everything and did his best to make my time enjoyable!

“Aggro dogs, Sweaty beds, old motor rent”

The price is the only positive thing. The beds were salty, sweaty, and the sheets stank. The area is very dangerous because of wild dogs barking and running around in the neighborhood. There was a plague of mosquitoes living in the “bathroom” without a sink, so the water seeped between the stones underneath. The “breakfast” was a cold fried banana and a piece of coconut flakes covered in a rooted leaf. The host’s cousin was supposed to drive us back to the hostel after the dolphin tour but didn’t, saying he had to drive a child to school. We had to walk a few kilometers on foot.
