If you want to escape reality and unplug completely, Ukutula Resort is perfect. It sits 11 km outside Dullstroom, tucked between calm pine forests and beautiful dams. The highlight is the absolute silence—no Wi‑Fi, no signal, no tech, letting you reconnect with nature. The resort is entirely off‑grid (even the fridge runs on gas!), so bring no hairdryers or gadgets. A 4x4 or high‑clearance vehicle is essential to reach the road. The self‑catering units are cozy and well‑equipped, with a lovely indoor fireplace for chilly evenings. Outdoors, there’s a great braai area and fire pit, and the resort provides all the firewood you’ll need. Spend days walking through the forest or trying bass fishing.
