The location is incredibly convenient for all the sights on the peninsula. In shoulder season, nothing else near the hotel opened without at least a 20‑minute drive. The food at the hotel is superb but pricey—keep that in mind. We walked the cliff walk to Arnarstapi and ate at a local restaurant, which was a nice change of pace. Nothing else.

The hotel and its walk to Arnarstapi are fantastic. The restaurant meal was extremely delicious; we chose the set menu and it was a real treat. The chef and the kind waitress deserve praise. It was a bit pricey for our budget, but we regret nothing. You have to travel to the ends of the earth to find a meal this good! Breakfast was also very good and varied. We did, of course, request a room with a sea view. The hotel was far from full.

A pretty decent hotel tucked deep in the middle of nowhere, right in the heart of the national park, but unfortunately no orcas or whales made an appearance.

The staff were kind and attentive at every moment. The room is spacious, clean, and fully equipped with quality amenities. The bedding is good, the insulating blinds are perfect for blocking light and heat at night. Special mention of the heated floor in the bathroom! We enjoyed the common lobby and its superb view. The terrace allows, if you’re lucky, to see the northern lights up close. We didn’t try the restaurant, which looks very good but expensive, even by Icelandic standards. Know that there are not many options nearby, so plan to shop ahead if you want provisions. Nothing particular.

The rooms were wonderful and the restaurant was very lovely with great food, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
