The breakfast was good, and the location in a tiny village of no more than 20 houses surrounded by nature and silence made me love strolling the town streets in the morning with the fresh new day, but there are steep stairs that make it hard to reach the refuge if you’re carrying stuff; it is not suitable for people with disabilities or any physical limitation. The staircase section is steep and narrow, making access and descent difficult when loaded. The lack of cleanliness and poor maintenance, such as in the bathroom, are noticeable. It’s a refuge, so don’t expect excessive amenities. The mattresses are worn, and the blankets probably don’t know the word “washed”.

The location is truly amazing – a peaceful little secret gem of the Pyrenees – and Anaïs was super friendly and welcoming.
