The Chancellor Hotel on Union Square is a boutique hotel situated on the Powell Cable Car Line, within a 2-minute walk of Union Square's cafes, shopping, and popular stores like Tiffany's, Macy's, and Niketown. Guest rooms feature flat-screen TVs, modern decor, and amenities such as specialty pillows, compact refrigerators, and ceiling fans. The hotel is 5 minutes' walk to the Theater District and 2 km from AT&T Park.

We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, but they offered free coffee, lemonade, and water in the lobby. We would have liked the hold on our credit card to be shorter.

We had an excellent stay at the Chancellor Hotel even though the décor isn't up to date! The location was ideal for visiting San Francisco because it was close to the metro, cable cars, and you could even walk! The extra perk: a machine with hot drinks and especially cakes was available for free in the hotel lobby, a real treat!!

A lovely property set in a nice neighbourhood, but the mattress was far too soft and the beds were excessively high.
