“Fim de semana com amigos”

The overall space was calm, the house was spacious, and Mr Luís was very available and friendly; breakfast was good. The barbecue area was great, roomy, and had a counter. The kitchen had every accessory needed. Even though we told them we didn’t need a cleaning after two days, they insisted on doing it. The mattresses could have been a bit more comfortable, otherwise nothing else to mention.

Daily cleaning was thorough and the breakfast featured homemade regional products. Animals (a dog and cats) that looked ill were near the pool, which made me uncomfortable and kept me from using the pool (I only spent about 30 minutes there over 7 days). The pool was also used by non‑guests, so the space felt crowded for its size. The bathroom, though always very clean, had a sewage smell at night, which was unpleasant. I couldn’t adjust the room air‑conditioner temperature myself; I had to ask reception, which was closed at night. The listing on Booking claimed a sauna, gym, bidet, hair dryer in the bathroom, and a TV with cable/satellite channels, but none of those were present.

The surrounding area and the pool are excellent. After our car broke down 25 km from the farm and we called a tow truck, I informed the accommodation, and contrary to expectations, we arrived slightly earlier than planned. We arrived by taxi 10 minutes before check‑in, and everything was ready. Still, that was not enough for our needs; we hadn’t had lunch yet and, with a 9‑year‑old child, no one checked if we were all fine or needed help. The nearest restaurant was 5 km away, and without a car, how could we get there? Nevertheless, the owner was helpful. Taxi driver Mr Luís helped us with everything we needed—thanks for his attention. That night we went to the accommodation to get ice creams that were all melted; we couldn’t complain because reception was closed. I’ll consider it just a bad day. I raised the issue about the ice creams on the day of check‑out, and the staff didn’t know what to say, paid, and then only said “have a good day at work.”
