The hotel sits right in the middle of all the sights, so getting around was effortless, and the breakfast covered everything from Western pastries to Asian dishes. In the afternoons they kept a little tea‑and‑bakery corner open, and my daughter especially loved the tea‑making class they organized. The owners were friendly and looked after us well, though the shower took a while to get hot, which was a bit annoying.

The bed was unbelievably comfy, and the host was genuinely friendly—always ready to chat about travel plans and point us toward local spots, giving the place that warm, home‑like vibe you’d expect from a Taiwanese guesthouse. The bathroom, however, had a weak flow and the hot water barely warmed up, which the owner had warned us about since the building is a historic property. If you’re planning a stay, aim for the summer months to avoid the chilly‑water issue.
