It had so much character and the staff were wonderful, and there was nothing I did not like.

The hotel sits centrally in the old town, so every Évora attraction is within walking distance, yet it remains quiet; the building is a stylishly restored 15th‑century structure, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the grounds are tidy with a small pool, the two‑room apartment is spacious, clean, and the bed comfortable; thanks to thick walls and air conditioning it stays pleasantly cool even at 35 °C; breakfast can be booked on site and served in the apartment; several nice restaurants, cafés and wine bars are within walking distance; about 10 minutes on foot along Avenida Lino de Carvalho lies a generous parking area for cars; there is no parking directly at the hotel.

The place was spotless and the location excellent; the staff were very helpful; the room had everything we needed, including complimentary drinks.
