The hotel was notably clean and partly renovated, with a spacious room and a very tidy, modern bathroom that stayed cool despite the heat outside. However, the key was hidden at a rear entrance that isn’t visible from the street, and without a helpful neighbor on the balcony we would never have found it; a quick phone hint the day before would have saved us trouble. Breakfast was truly minimalist – by 9:15 am only leftovers remained, the food selection was tiny yet fresh, and nothing was replenished during our meal, leaving us with just a jam roll. The breakfast room was cramped, tables from previous guests weren’t cleared, and the windows there were far dirtier than those in the rooms. A view that once existed was destroyed when a hardware store was built directly opposite – what authority allowed that? The elevator was clearly marked to stop only at the second floor, yet our room was on the third, forcing us to lug luggage up the stairs, which was not mentioned. The door to the room was hard to open because the new carpet was too high and got caught. One of the staff, a woman, seemed overloaded and was very unfriendly.
