The location and comfort are perfect for exploring the city, the staff are very attentive, friendly, and speak English, and the facilities are clean. I wish there were cameras in the hand‑washing area where you rinse your hands and blow your hair.

The place is well situated just off the metro and the facilities are clean, but the staff were only okay and the check‑in was a bit confusing; overall it was fine. The rooms are tiny—my suitcase barely fit and I couldn’t even open the door.

I travel a lot and have stayed in many capsule hostels; Lemon Hotel gives you the best of both worlds—a capsule’s privacy and a hotel’s comfort. Your own room is quiet, clean, safe, and private, and the reception on the 18th floor is efficient; I stayed on the 17th and 19th and recommend a room with a view and a window. Cleaning staff are incredibly efficient, shared bathrooms are discreetly staffed and always spotless, and the hotel is just 100 m from Changhsu Road subway station, so you can reach anywhere in Shanghai thanks to the great network. The only annoyance was the lift jingle: the first time was amazing, but after ten days it became a bit much 😂.

The location isn’t bad and is within walking distance of the former French concession area, with a few cafés nearby; the room is very basic, lacks a mirror, and only a single disposable towel is provided per day, which isn’t convenient for those who shower more than once a day; the soundproofing is poor, so you can clearly hear people walking down the corridor.

Friendly staff were great, and the front desk was open 24/7. The hotel’s location was a bit tricky to find, but the directions were clear enough. The bidet in the toilet didn’t work; only one bidet functioned.
