The hotel is quite clean and comfortable, and its location makes it easy to visit Cartagena’s tourist spots and nearby shops. We made three separate bookings because we used Cartagena as a base for trips to other regions, and each time we received a king‑size upgrade. Still, on our first reservation we were handed a standard room until we noticed the mistake and asked for a change; the staff member who handled it tried to charge us extra for the upgrade that was already promised through Booking, and then attempted to add a percentage on top of the final Booking price plus another card‑payment fee. We had to argue a lot with the housekeeper—there’s no front desk—to get the correct room and the original rate honored, which made the experience a bit stressful.
