The location had a nice beach and a pier to jump into the sea, a beach paradise. The bathroom needs a lot of improvement; the facilities were just hose‑water taps, the bathroom smelled bad. There was nowhere to put things, but we didn’t bring many.

The hotel sits right in the middle of the island, which makes getting around a breeze. The rooms, however, feel pretty stripped down – the only place to hang your clothes is a shelf in the bathroom – and the restaurant, while tasty, moves at a snail's pace. To top it off, the air‑conditioning only works from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., so it gets stuffy during the day.

The biggest gripe was the AC schedule – it only runs from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., so the rooms become an oven in daylight. The hotel doesn’t have its own beach either; you have to use a public strip that's always packed with crowds and street vendors.

The common areas are surprisingly roomy and pleasant, but the food left a lot to be desired.

We didn’t have to swat many mosquitoes, which was a relief, but the bathroom was a nightmare – the toilet wouldn’t flush and the whole place reeked. The pizza served was the worst I've ever tasted and ridiculously priced, and the building constantly creaked with noise from internal works. There were no crystal‑clear beaches nearby, but that was due to the river‑tainted water, not the hotel. The menu never changed, so we ended up eating at other hotels where the food was far better.
