The peace and surrounding nature are awesome; we visited in low season and it was great. The hosts were amazing, answering all questions and offering great recommendations. The only thing to keep in mind is that transport to the location is by bus (or hitchhiking); the buses run on a schedule, so plan accordingly when heading out for the day.

“Great place to relax and enjoy nature!”

Everything was really good; the staff were very friendly and accommodating, but there were a lot of mosquitos—not the fault of the owners—so bring repellant if you want to be fine.

We were lucky to spend a few days at Sun Creek Lodge with Marissa and Thomas, and it was truly one of the highlights of our Belize trip; the lodge itself is a beautiful, quiet place in nature, away from mass tourism, but what really made the stay special were the hosts: Marissa and Thomas create an atmosphere where you feel instantly welcome and comfortable with their warm, relaxed, yet attentive style; we were especially impressed by the individually organized experiences—from the traditional cocoa farm with its own chocolate production to the spectacular cave tour with Thomas and the unforgettable snorkeling boat trip—each day was unique and perfectly tailored; the cave tour remains particularly memorable: away from other groups, led with a lot of experience and passion; the overall organization on site was straightforward and personal, with many helpful regional tips; if you want to experience authentic southern Belize with personal care, nature, and special experiences, this is the place; clear recommendation—we would come back anytime! A paradise, almost needless to say, for the accommodation; everything is very clean and beautifully furnished, the whole property is gorgeous and you can spot animals everywhere, the host family is super helpful and incredibly kind, the breakfast is highly recommended, and the tours with them are a joy! Thank you for everything :) We would come back immediately and stay longer.

This place felt like a little paradise, with a beautiful tropical garden perfect for birdwatching and a nice lounging area full of hammocks. The room was spacious, with windows all around and an airy feel because there was no glass, just mosquito nets. The outside shower was amazing, and the breakfast was very good sized and tasty. The owners were helpful and welcoming, and if you like dogs you should meet their Rottweiler—she’s super cute and loves to cuddle. I wish I could’ve stayed longer. It’s close to the bus stop, and while there isn’t much to do nearby unless you have a car or go on tours, it’s perfect if you just want to relax. The mattress was really uncomfortable, and dinner was good but a bit expensive compared to other lodges that offer dinner by request. Some reviews mention the road, but in my experience you only hear it a little in the morning and later very few cars pass. There are a lot of dogs barking—almost everywhere in Central America—but mostly the neighbors’ dogs, and the owner’s dogs seem well behaved.
