Isla Mujeres is a flat, seven-kilometre island that sits directly across the bay from Cancún. Most travellers cross from mainland Cancún via passenger ferry. On the island, golf carts serve as the primary mode of personal transport, while taxis and local buses handle fixed routes between Centro and Punta Sur.
