Friendly reception and restaurant staff, dinner was great! The room was right above the terrace with a beer garden, and the event and party kept getting louder until 01:00 am. I opened the window and asked for quiet, a man in a apron apologized once, but then he and two guests kept celebrating and smoking for another half hour right under my window!!!

Breakfast was good. The hotel’s location is ideal as a starting point for bike rides or hikes, and we could leave our e‑bikes in the garage and charge them. We had a room with a street‑side window. Besides loud greetings from other guests or possibly workers early in the morning, there was a lot of smoking directly below that window, so we never got fresh air. The room should have been marked “smoking room.” Also, one of the otherwise very friendly waiters emitted a very unpleasant sweat smell.

Large, clean single room with a big bathroom. The only drawback: no storage space in the bathroom—no shelves at all, and the cosmetic case was left on the floor. Everything else was fine, and the staff at check‑in and check‑out were very nice. The breakfast was great—no complaints! The restaurant visit was chaotic and disorganized, with an extremely long wait. The food was okay but not outstanding (medium‑rare steak was very English). Service was sometimes unfriendly; when we mentioned the chaotic process to the waiter at payment, he replied, “well, you’re full, aren’t you?” which we found very inappropriate.

“Tolles Hotel, sehr freundliches Personal. Wir haben uns willkommen und sehr wohlgefühlt.”

Very friendly and attentive staff. The property was well‑maintained and clean. Great dinner. Breakfast was more standard; the sausage and cheese seemed pre‑packed, so a selection of regional fresh products would have been nicer.

“Wenn ich wieder in die Gegend komme werde ich wieder dort übernachten.”

Parking was the key factor, as it’s not always available in Bad Mergentheim itself. The room was quiet and furnished appropriately for the price, allowing me to sleep well. I can’t comment on breakfast because I left without it (I’m not a breakfast person).
