The space, the lawn, the access to the beach which was just a staircase down at the back of the property. The flexibility of having our bags stored beyond the scheduled time. I regret not having met the owner in person.

Super Lage, toller Garten.

The location is excellent, in the city centre, a few metres from the bus terminal, right next to the island’s only emergency service and opposite a charming Portuguese supermarket with catering, which is very convenient. The chance to meet holidaymakers from other cultures and parts of the world. Close to the beach and Wi‑Fi works even in the room. The linen change (bedsheets and towels) isn’t charged extra as the site says. You have free access to clean linens in the laundry. The beach is not private; there is a private access but the beach itself isn’t. Any island resident or holidaymaker can go there. The biggest disappointment was the hosts/managers being unreachable, no reception, no email, SMS, message, no reply to my voicemail left on the number listed on the site, no sign of life. No presentation of the place or access codes. After three hours of waiting, I heard the housekeeper by chance and she gave me the room code, saying “they” would send me a message with the codes. I finally got information from other holidaymakers. During my stay I had trouble with the room code and the hosts were unreachable. I called the three numbers available and left a voicemail. No return and had to leave the ground‑floor window open to get in while the issue was resolved. I had to slam the door to close the room, which disturbed everyone. Signs of damp on the bathroom walls. I never had access to or saw the fitness centre; again no reception for me, so I could be wrong but even the welcome booklet doesn’t mention the centre. When asked “Would you recommend this place to a friend or family member?” the answer is no, but I invite you not to be influenced by my review and get to know this residence which still has many positive points.

We stayed there for a week and were thrilled by the perfect location. The large Palmengarten in front of the villa lies directly on the sea. With the other co‑livers we were very lucky and felt very comfortable. The internet was top‑class. The big Ping Doce on the other side of the street was very convenient. The town centre with bus and taxi stand is reachable in 5 minutes. Only five rooms were rented so the community wasn’t too big. In the large living room I could work very well and concentrate. We’ll gladly come back. The communication with the busy host Henrique could have been faster. When he answered, it was thorough and polite. The cleaning of the outdoor area is your responsibility, as sand and leaves are blown in daily by the wind. The storm during the stay washed sand from the beach. He should come back. I would have liked more workspaces. There was only one desk and a office chair. Power strips were scarce. No cushions for the chairs outdoors. Otherwise the equipment was very good.

The location was wonderful, I loved the garden and the access to the ocean. The kitchen is well equipped. The co‑living rooms are spacious. A guest acting like the owner of the house made a lot of mess and was always drunk. I felt so confined and restricted and developed a severe headache that lasted seven days. The host intervened, but it was too late. I strongly recommend that the hosts provide a basic rules package in advance for every person booking the place or add them to the description.
