“Good hotel close to the station with great desserts”

The onsen was excellent, and the hotel sits right next to the station; they offered free ice cream and had a cafe/restaurant on site. The room itself was spacious and spotless, though getting to Nagano’s main attractions required a fair walk.

We received a generous spread of ice and sweets as a gift, and the breakfast was tasty. However, the bath was smaller than expected. Since we were a large group, we had to eat separately, which was unavoidable, but before sitting we asked if we could sit next to each other and were told we couldn’t, which was a little disappointing.
