The stay at W168 was the best I've had in Thailand, and the dog there was adorable. Tan, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and felt like a friend right away; she offered great local food tips, taught me essential Thai phrases, booked a massage for me, and even drove me to my next destination after my stay at W168. The private room was spacious, nicely decorated, with a comfy bed and a cute patio, and it was clean and well equipped with an AC unit and a fan. I felt safe as a solo female traveler. The hostel is a short walk to Old Town, surrounded by great local restaurants—definitely follow Tan's recommendations on what to try. I would highly recommend staying at W168 Hostel and saying hi to Tan and Kony while you're there!

There was no receptionist, so the housekeeper gave us the wrong room and we left our stuff to go sightseeing. When we returned, everything we had left in the room—our money and documents—had been removed and left in the common areas. A lady on the phone told us to leave at 9 pm instead of offering a solution. Very bad experience.
