“We didn't get what was advertised -- what we expected.”
The Victorian‑era building has been beautifully renovated, and walking to downtown restaurants is easy. Breakfast, prepared by Chef Charlie and served in the pretty dining room, was delicious. However, we booked a King Suite with a fireplace and received a two‑room suite without a fireplace; the furnishings were very basic and “tired,” lacking amenities. The mattress was too soft and the huge pillows were extra firm, so it definitely wasn’t a “Luxury Guest Room” as advertised. The only staff we saw was the kitchen person; the concierge was off‑site and offered no guidance on local restaurants, no afternoon refreshments as pictured, and no bar service as advertised.
