The location is excellent, very close to the airport. We arrived in the city by train and they sent a free car to pick us up from the station to the hotel, plus a free shuttle to the airport. Breakfast was fine, and there was free coffee and cookies all day.

The room was dirty and had torn seams. Hygiene at breakfast was messy—crumbs on the floor weren’t cleaned up.

LaQuinta Inn sits just outside Fairbanks airport, and we didn’t notice any jet noise. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast matched a typical hotel continental spread. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The inn is just up the street from the Riverboat Discovery, which is a short walk, but one of our party had a heart attack last year so we were worried about the distance. The hotel offered to have their shuttle driver take us down to the riverboat, which we appreciated even though we chose to walk. The only issue was the limited floor space: my wife and I each had a full‑size suitcase, and the beds were the only places to open them. My wife managed to open hers on the floor, but I had to move the chair from the desk to create space under it. It was a minor inconvenience, but worth noting if you need a lot of floor space.

I was greeted by Winston at the front desk, who handled a last‑minute booking smoothly and put us in a room that went beyond what we expected. Even though we’re not familiar with La Quinta, the hotel feels freshly updated, though the staff mentioned the last renovation was in 2016. The breakfast was bland and ordinary, similar to what you’d find at Courtyard, but it was free.

The man running breakfast was great—he really made sure everyone had what they needed. We checked in late, and when we called ahead to request sheets and blankets for the sofa bed, it took a while before they arrived.
