The 4‑bed dorm was cozy, and the owner was very friendly. The shower only had water, but that didn’t bother me because it was hot. The lake is just a one‑minute walk away, so you can relax by the shore. Renting a bike costs 1000 rupees (just under 500 yen) and is enough to cycle around the nearby ruins. Depending on the timing, you can chill even more.

The host was very welcoming and helpful, the garden was amazing, and the lake was close by. The spot was quiet yet near everything, so we could rent bikes and visit the temples. You can go there with your eyes closed.

I’d go back and spend a week there. At Chill House Hostel, when nothing happens, everything does. Just lie on the garden hammock and breathe again. If you look closely, you’ll see the varano living peacefully in the pond, a pair of manguste wandering calmly, squirrels everywhere, and monkeys on the highest palm branches. You might even spot toucans craving tropical fruit that Jonti leaves out every morning for his friends, but you have to be very lucky to see them. Staying at Jonti is an experience—you have to be ready to give up a quick trip, pause, breathe, and stay in the present.
