A lovely room in the Sassi area, breakfast served on the terrace had delicious focaccia and pastries. If arriving by car you need to park up the hill and either walk or take the shuttle bus down to the property. We booked a walking tour of Matera which was very interesting and helpful, as it is a confusing town to find your way around at first. The owner was helpful and friendly. Nothing

We had a wonderful stay at Gradelle San Nicola and truly enjoyed our time here. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they were always happy to help us with all the information we needed, from getting around to recommendations for exploring Matera. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the Sassi, making it perfect for exploring the city on foot. One of our favourite things was the shared terrace, which has an absolutely beautiful view over Matera. It was such a pleasure to sit there in the evening and admire the city as it lit up, and equally special to enjoy breakfast in the morning while watching Matera slowly wake up. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The atmosphere of the property is charming and fits perfectly with the unique character of Matera. We travelled with our 4-year-old son and felt very comfortable throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend Gradelle San Nicola to anyone visiting Matera and would be very happy to stay here again!
