I was appalled by Diamond Hotel in Van Don—apparently a shell of a building, with most of it dark and only enough power to keep the lobby lit. The advertised pool is closed and empty, and none of the other amenities exist. They refuse to accept credit cards, marking valid international cards as “invalid” to force cash payments or avoid platform fees. The area has a history of land scandals and police investigations dating back to 2005, and local authorities seem uneasy when the hotel is mentioned, suggesting illegal or “grey zone” operations. There is no real security or professional staff, making the stay feel unsafe and illegal. This place is a “Ghost Hotel” scam; stop letting tourists fall into it and investigate its business license.

The rooms were spacious and quiet, but the hotel was a bit far from other services like restaurants and pharmacies. The breakfast was decent.

The location was convenient, and the staff were friendly and enthusiastic, making the stay comfortable. However, there was a gap in the bathroom that was annoying.

The room was large, quite nice, and the location was beautiful. The balcony curtains were poorly designed, making it inconvenient to open and close the balcony. There were many threatening notices, such as a 2 million penalty for smoking in the room and a 5 million penalty for parking on the sidewalk; a polite wording would be better since the hotel is not a government agency.
