The meals were good, but the toilet and bath facilities were lacking.

Kochang and his wife are the best hosts. The homemade dinner and breakfast are excellent. We will definitely return there to bring our extended family.

My parents welcomed me kindly and made me feel very warm. The meals they prepared with local ingredients were delicious, offering both luxurious home cooking and regional dishes. Being able to do laundry was a big help. We laughed a lot, had great conversations, and enjoyed a wonderful time.

I kicked off my Kumano Kodo journey with a truly fantastic stay, especially enjoying the dinner and breakfast that featured freshly caught fish and felt like a banquet. The accommodations are simple, yet for anyone looking for a rural Japan vibe—complete with a guitar performance—it's an excellent choice. I’m already planning to try fishing or farm picking on my next visit.
