“Mooie accommodatie in een rustige omgeving”

The accommodation looked beautiful, with a lovely garden, tables, trees, and a pool, and the vegetarian food was wonderfully well cared for. Unfortunately, we were unlucky to arrive at that time; they were very busy organising a community run, constantly discussing it, which made us feel occasionally forgotten—scooter arrangements were eventually sorted out (we could borrow a scooter, though it had no licence plate), but I had requested a manicure/pedicure and heard nothing about it, nor did I get transport. After several calls, someone finally arrived an hour later. It’s also worth noting the doors don’t lock, and you really need a scooter to see the surroundings near the waterfalls.

From the moment I stepped into omunity, I felt I had entered a home rather than just a hotel. Though my stay was only two days, Zanzan, Rama, Coco, Joni and the rest of the staff welcomed me like family, and the other guests felt like part of that family too. I especially enjoyed the dining times at omunity, not just the ritual of eating but also the prayers of thanks for the food, and the Balinese specialties that you can't find elsewhere; they were all delicious. I strongly recommend visiting the local morning market, taking a cooking class, and making offerings—these simple daily practices are experiences you can’t get in tourist areas but are the most authentic slice of Bali.

“Ein wunderschönes Erlebnis!”

It was a sensational, decelerating experience in a paradisiacal setting with a unique host, Zanzan. The vegan/vegetarian dinner was excellent, prepared by his wife. We knew beforehand that the menu cost 175000 IDR per person, but we could have also gone to a nearby warung. The next day we joined the waterfall tour (meditation walk) organized by Zanzan. It was a short, enjoyable tour to the Fiji and Sekumpul waterfalls, with a stop for the waterfall slide, cliff jumping, and a sensational lunch on the rice terraces. Because it was a day tour, the price was justified for us. We regretted booking only one night. The bathroom in the family bungalow is indeed a bit dated, but the outdoor shower was sensational.

Emplacement loin du tumulte de la ville, ce qui a permis de profiter du calme. Nous étions les seules dans l'hôtel cette nuit-là (mes deux filles de 13 et 16 ans et moi). Arrivées en fin d'après-midi, nous avons été très bien accueillies et avons pû bénéficier d'une visite privée dans les rizières pendant plus d'1h. De retour, un délicieux repas nous attendait. L'un des meilleurs que j'ai mangé à Bali jusqu'à présent. Produits frais, bio, cuisine typique. Le lendemain, nous avons visité pendant 1h une école. Mes filles et moi avons pû participer à la vie d'une classe. Les enfants étaient adorables. La chambre était agréable, et même si nous craignions un peu les petites bêtes, absolument aucune n'est venue nous rendre visite dans la nuit. Nous avons juste aperçu une grenouille qui s'est vite sauvée. La salle de bain est sommaire mais l'eau chaude et se doucher à la belle étoile furent un plaisir. Je recommande vivement cet hébergement où l'on est accueillis les bras ouverts et comme des rois. Il vous faudra juste un peu de patience avec le réseau wifi dans la chambre mais dans l'espace commun, ça fonctionne mieux
