The view from the room was amazing, but the large public bath turned out to be narrower than I had imagined.

The onsen and the Showa‑era retro vibe were enjoyable, yet the exterior walls still showed damage and grime, which kept the place from feeling truly clean.

We’re tucked away in a quiet corner, which makes time feel like it slows down, and being able to lock out a private onsen is a real bonus for tattooed guests or couples :)

Nakai‑san’s service and the room’s location were excellent, and the private bath and meals were very good.

The quality of the hot spring water was good, but the outdoor onsen door was stiff and hard to open, and the pool was littered with leaves and insects, making it too dirty to use.
