“Very bad experience, bugs in the bed and no AC.”

The staff were friendly and the mountain view was stunning, but everything else fell short. The room was infested with bugs, and without a bed net the insects started crawling on us as soon as we turned off the lights, forcing us to leave immediately for another hotel. The staff spoke no English, the shower was either freezing or scorching, the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain so we had to brush our teeth in the shower, and there was no air conditioning.

As an Aussie who takes coffee way too seriously, Ma Coffee Farm blew me away. The coffee is exceptional, and I don’t hand that out easily. The staff were absolutely fantastic, especially Waew, the owner, and the farm’s genuine support for the Akha community gave the visit a deeper meaning beyond a pretty backdrop. I received a one‑on‑one walkthrough of the entire coffee process in Thai, which felt so authentic and special—totally different from the usual tourist experience. The views are jaw‑dropping, the accommodation is super comfortable, and that bath? Don’t even get me started—it's incredible. Sakura the cat is an absolute highlight; honestly she might be the best staff member of all. If you love coffee, stunning scenery, and real travel, stay here!

“Lost in the mountains with a great host and great coffee”

Excellent coffee, friendly staff, and a helpful owner made the trip worthwhile. The drive is long and sometimes intimidating, but the reward is being away from everyone and inside a small community of coffee farmers. The accommodations are a bit rustic but very good, with a view over the mountains—a perfect place to rest and be at peace.

“Ein tolles Erlebnis”

I stayed at a family-run coffee plantation that looked exactly like the pictures. Initially, we had issues with not enough warm water for the bathtub, but after a quick message, the problem was immediately resolved, and we had plenty of hot water. The staff helped us carry our luggage down the stairs, and the room and bathroom were fantastic. The experience was truly unique. However, the drive to the place wasn't easy due to steep roads, and we needed good brakes.

The setting, the breathtaking view, the sound of nature, the calm atmosphere, and the extremely friendly and helpful staff were all exceptional. However, the beds were not very comfortable, and getting a taxi from Chiang Rai was complicated.
