I found the sign and managed to locate the place after just 40 minutes of wandering around the block. At 4 am, when I finally reached the hotel, I struggled to wake the front‑desk staff. He informed me that the room I had booked a couple of weeks before and confirmed via email was already occupied. No alternatives were offered, so my luggage and I had to scramble for another hotel in the center of the enormous, rat‑infested Mumbai.

The hotel was closed and no longer operating, as was told to me earlier on the helpline.
