The place is great to be in, within walking distance of cafés, restaurants, and supermarkets. The hotel is pretty, and the lobby smells wonderfully of jasmine. The staff are very friendly. The bed is very comfortable, the linens are good, and the pillows are quality and not cheap. Breakfast is decent. But it’s not a five‑star hotel. The hotel feels exhausted. The restaurant on the 8th floor is dirty (tables aren’t wiped after guests leave, and there’s trash on the floor). The door lock in the room didn’t work the first time. The curtains in our room wouldn’t open because the mechanism was broken. The linens had stains. The bedside lamp and floor lamp were broken. Pay attention to those in room 1150; they had been glued on multiple times before, apparently. The worst part was that we could hear every street noise, as if our window was wide open. Be prepared to be woken by the mosque at 5 am, and at 7 am the Indonesian national anthem will play three times! It’s so loud it feels like it’s playing in your room. There’s work to be done. Friends, this is a 3★ level, not a 5★.
