“New Tesla Superchargers Made Labor Day visit to Carlsbad Caverns & Guadalupe Mountains NPs Possible”
The location is great, just a 45‑minute drive to Carlsbad Cavern’s visitor center and 50 minutes to Guadalupe Mountains National Park’s visitor center. The breakfast was excellent, with croissants, breakfast sandwiches, bacon, scrambled eggs, a waffle maker, fresh oatmeal, juices, and other continental items. The beds were super comfy and the shower had good pressure and consistent hot water. The pool was refreshing even in the 100‑degree heat. The Tesla 350kW Supercharger in the parking lot was the main reason we chose Fairfield Inn – Tesla charging is scarce in lower New Mexico, so having a charger here eased the drive to Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains (though Tesla still needs a 2025‑approved Supercharger in Roswell, NM to allow a 105% charge for the trip to Santa Rosa, NM without long stops). It’s a short walk to Walmart for supplies or forgotten clothes. I was charged $41 more than quoted. The AC unit made odd noises when the compressor was off, but it kept the room cool. I could hear highway trucks until about 8 PM, after which traffic quieted down; a few trucks kept coming until midnight, but it wasn’t loud enough to wake me.
