As a police officer attending a class, I left my off‑duty weapon in the room; someone entered, stole it, yet management refused to believe the room was broken into because the door wasn’t kicked in. While looking for my weapon I had to move the bed entirely and discovered a condom; when I mentioned this to management, the staff just laughed and said people leave them all the time.
