“Not worth the money.”
The spot was spot on, right next to the main sights and the airport – hard to beat. Walking into the lobby felt like stepping into a genuine Hawaiian vibe. I chose the room because the price seemed unbeatable, but after checking in I ended up paying an extra $400.00‑$500.00 in hotel fees, which made me wish I’d booked somewhere else at the final price. The manager was great, yet the other reception staff were disappointing. The lobby was nice, but the rooms were not: the elevator looked old, worn, and scary; the door was scratched; the button took forever to get the lift; the carpets were stained and worn; the beds were uncomfortable; the pillows were tough. Wifi was terrible, and cell service was almost non‑existent, which felt unsafe for a solo traveler. When I asked if the wifi was always that bad, the receptionist confirmed it and said certain carriers only work in specific hotel areas. When I requested a room change for better cell reception, she explained how complicated it would be, which made me think she simply didn’t want to help.
