The spot is right where you want to be – close to everything – but the promised nearby parking never existed. I rang the owner several times with no answer, only to discover later that she’d left the key on a window sill. We never actually met her in person.

The restaurant tucked under the hotel serves fantastic food and the staff are friendly, which made meals a real highlight. Unfortunately, the resident next door smokes heavily and the cigarette smell drifts into the dining area, which was unpleasant.

Arriving with my husband and a three‑month‑old, we were handed the keys by a man who seemed drunk and didn’t even ask our names or confirm we were the guests. The owner later called to ask our arrival time, and when we finally got in touch she sounded shocked we’d shown up, leaving us to wait. A follow‑up call about our transport was met with a lazy “yeah?” before the line went dead.
