The garden and pool are pleasant if you ignore the train noise. Breakfast is decent, standard. It’s very noisy right next to the busy railway line, even at night and on Sundays. There are no private toilets; the bathroom is on the landing, across the hall. The bathroom has only a shower block and a sink against a wall in the room. There’s no storage, no place to put a suitcase. The reception was deplorable, unworthy of a guesthouse: we came for a wedding, arrived at 13:00 instead of the agreed 14:00, and the owners outright refused to let us in, even into the garden to change. We had to change on the street! Take the time to read the owners’ responses to negative comments; it’s enlightening and says a lot about their mindset and sense of hospitality and customer service. All the other wedding guests found guesthouses twice as cheap and very pleasant nearby.
