Beds 5/10 · 2 guests mention them
The location was good, but the rooms were very small.
“Recomiendo mucho el alojamiento, está a buen precio y dispone de todo.”
The room was fantastic, fully equipped with heating, bath products, and a very comfortable bed that made for a great rest. Everything was spotless and well maintained, giving a positive first impression. The staff were genuinely friendly and quickly resolved a small issue with kindness and eagerness to help, which is greatly appreciated when away from home. The location is quite convenient, with a nearby stop that takes you to the city center in no time, making city travel easy and comfortable. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I leave with a great memory of the place.
Access was easy thanks to the metro just next door (5 minutes on foot). The owner sent a message with the code, so we could go straight to the accommodation without having to ask for keys. The place was very clean, with a large bathroom upstairs and a large kitchen that was super well equipped (big table, cooking utensils, stove, two washing machines, and a dryer). The beds were made when we entered our room, and there were shower towels available for each of us. The accommodation is in a secure neighbourhood (the police patrol regularly), calm and welcoming. We were very satisfied with our week-long stay! The room gets very hot even though the heating was off, so we slept with the window open several times. The sofa bed is a bit hard, so a mattress topper might help, and the double bed is a little small.
“Pros y contras”
The room was very clean, as were the linens and the set of towels for each person, and the bathroom was also tidy; we all tried to keep it in top condition for whoever came after us (no room service, obviously). The house is in the Elephant & Castle neighborhood, a minute and a half walk from the bus and tube station, so connectivity to the rest of the city is excellent. We discovered this on the second day, which completely changed our travel perspective: we went from planning to use Uber to using the tube (easy to use, understand, and especially fast). The area is mainly working‑class and Latin, the location is perfect, the neighborhood is not noisy, and people are very friendly. There are many food stalls, small restaurants, and shops nearby, and the owner is also very kind. We were sent incomplete instructions for the front door lock and triggered the alarm a couple of times. The room is the right size but the double bed is only 1.35 m wide, and the springs were visible when you ran your hand over the mattress. The sofa bed (the one shown in the photo) is very uncomfortable to sleep on, with a central board under the padding acting as a “mattress.” I would recommend the owner address these two points. Sharing a bathroom with other guests felt awkward because we were not used to it; we managed to coordinate the times well, but it remains a stressful situation. For a solo traveler it might not be a problem. It is noteworthy that trash is left on the street in bags as well as in small containers. There are two daily pickups, but if everything doesn’t fit on the truck, it stays there until the next pickup, which means London always has some accumulated garbage. This neighborhood is no exception.
