Thanks to Mike and Sue, we checked in early and could stroll up to Devil’s Dyke right after leaving the front door onto the South Downs. The fresh milk in the room was a real bonus for tea and coffee, the bed was super comfy, and breakfast was tasty—perfect for starting the day.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful, with great attention to quality and presentation. The 16th‑century house itself is stunning, and we especially loved how the interior has been so carefully preserved to maintain its natural character while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. The host was very friendly, professional, and accommodating, offering flexible check‑in times which made our arrival much easier. Overall, a truly delightful and memorable experience. One small suggestion for improvement would be to make it clearer to customers that payment is taken upon arrival rather than in advance, as this would help set expectations and avoid any confusion.

Mike and Sue were so helpful and friendly. The English breakfast was excellent. Would stay again definitely. Hard to fault anything
