“Perdu dans la jungle. Lost in the jungle”

We’re in Tejakula, a tiny village tucked away in the jungle of northern Bali. The price is extremely reasonable, so base your rating on that. You’re in the middle of nowhere. Children, teens, and most locals smile, greet you, and strike up conversation. The low‑profile bungalows are surrounded by lush vegetation that frames a pool. A quirky detail: the sink is in the bedroom, not the bathroom. The air‑conditioning unit is well placed (not above the bed). There’s a power strip for phones, and the beds are comfortable. You can get a massage (ask Ilou) and the owner can arrange excursions on request (e.g., Lovina). Don’t forget to trek a bit toward the many waterfalls; take the small trails and you’ll see the villages from a new perspective and meet incredibly welcoming people. Don’t misunderstand – it isn’t a luxury guesthouse; it matches the price you pay, but the value for money is excellent. For food, don’t look elsewhere; the dishes served are excellent for a friendly price. There are, of course, many small details that could be improved, which is normal given the rate, but nothing critical.

The pool was lovely and the staff were friendly. We stayed for three nights and were only given water once in our room.

The Pondok Ardi is a great spot for a getaway in Buleleng, offering a comfortable and quiet setting with good facilities, plus a swimming pool.
