Magaré Hotel & Restaurant

The hotel sits right next to the train tracks and at night you couldn't sleep with the windows open; even with them closed the trains were loud. There was no Wi‑Fi. The toilet and shower were in the hallway, and hot water only came from the sink in the room. In the shower it took forever to get hot water, and you couldn't adjust the temperature—just hot or cold. I had to wait over two hours for the owner to arrive; the phone number listed was unreachable. A regular guest of the hotel called my personal number to arrange a room; without him I would have had no accommodation. The owner said he never received a booking confirmation from you.

“War okay zum kurzfristigen Überbrücken der Nacht, weil ich von Koblenz aus nicht weg kam leider.”

I wanted to check in earlier, and the staff made it happen right away, which was very nice of them. The only downside was that there was no trash bin in the room.

Unlike some pricier hotels, this place even had a small fridge, kettle, and coffee in the room. It was clean, warm, and the shower was nicely spacious. We were allowed to bring our two dogs, and the manager was quick but friendly. However, we were charged 12 € per dog, even though the email said 8 € (which I only noticed later). The room was on the upper floor, and above us lived a few men who, although well behaved, made every creak and step audible.

Even though I arrived a bit early to check in, it was no problem to get into the room. A simple hotel with good value for money.

The check‑in box jammed and I had to open it with a lot of patience. In the room and bathroom there were spiders everywhere, and the slatted bed frame had to be straightened out before I could lie down.
