“Amazing”
The property is stunning and the location is lovely, with thoughtfully designed, quiet spaces. The library is beautiful and stocked with inspiring books. The food is amazing, and the staff are very sweet and accommodate every need. Nothing to complain about at all.
“Unique stay, nice to stay somewhere different.”
Staying at this eco‑friendly countryside accommodation was a unique experience, and the host gave a very warm welcome. It was a different sort of stay, though the eco‑friendly approach requires careful use of water and other resources.
“Wonderful connection to nature”
Mela Kothi feels like a small island of tranquility, with a beautiful property full of vegetation and wildlife. The staff are extremely nice and welcoming. I also did the river boat safari, which I highly recommend – I saw a river dolphin, gharials, crocodiles, turtles, and many bird species, and the naturist guide was very knowledgeable.
There are numerous activities around this area, but everything is very highly priced.
“Ein magisches Erkebnis abseits vom Massentourismus”
The Chambal Safari Lodge was a magical place for us, a natural paradise and safe refuge for many animal and bird species. On the expansive grounds we walked with the very talented and affable naturalist Bacchu and saw various owl species, other rare birds, flying foxes, and even serval cats during the night walk. The bungalows are beautifully rustic in the style of old times, and a hot water bottle is placed in the beds before bedtime. We especially liked the atmosphere of the lunch with tables spread in the large garden. Another highlight was the fantastic excursions available in this region spared from mass tourism. Spending the afternoon/evening as the only boat on the Chambal River at golden light, spotting gharials, crocodiles, many birds, and a river dolphin will stay with us forever. We also visited an impressive heritage village and temples situated on the Yamuna River, all without seeing other tourists. The Sarus crane safari with Bacchu in the wetlands of the region was a great experience. Simply WOW and highly recommended.
