I can’t understand the bad reviews; the hotel was clean and generally good, though it didn’t meet every German standard; the staff spoke English well, the breakfast next door was very good, the beach was just over the street, and overall we were satisfied with the price‑for‑value. The only downside was that the street location was a bit noisy, but that’s expected when you book there.

The spot was unbeatable, just a few steps from the sea, perfect for morning and afternoon swims, and still on the quiet side of Da Nang Bay while only a 5‑minute walk to My Khe bars, restaurants and nightlife. My room was spotless and got daily service, and I rented a scooter and booked drivers from reception with ease. Breakfast was healthy and varied – fruit, breads, rice, eggs, meat and hot drinks – and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself needs a serious maintenance/renovation; some areas look derelict and dirty, and communicating with staff is tough because their English is basic, a common issue across Vietnam.

The location is a bit far from the city, so you’ll probably need to rent a scooter or take Grab. The view was decent. They tried to charge me 20 € for fireworks, which I refused because I had nothing to do with them, and the staff told me to look for another hotel because it was mandatory to pay; I was pissed and asked to speak with the manager, who then called and said I didn’t need to pay anymore. When I got to the room it was so dirty it seemed never cleaned for weeks – dust everywhere, the fridge full of water, stained bedsheets – and the breakfast was the same every day of my stay. I don’t recommend this hotel, but if you’re on a budget you might consider it.
