How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
A wooden house full of creativity. Everything fits nicely in the Latvian countryside, and you can see many simple, original, handcrafted items. Rita veji is in a fairly remote spot near a well‑maintained road. We liked it, can’t imagine otherwise.

The host is responsive, good sauna with a pond to cool off after. The kitchen is fairly well equipped.

The space feels authentic and generous, so we found it an interesting experience, but it seems more like a local party house with all the necessary amenities (outdoor terrace, sauna, large dining room, living room) rather than a holiday spot. Management is overall poor – the place isn’t clean, you can’t lock or even close some doors (like the shower room) as mentioned elsewhere, sound insulation is weak, and the whole house is crooked, so it makes a lot of noise as everything shakes when you walk.

The surroundings are pretty. The bathroom and shower room doors can’t be locked, and the wall that borders the WC lacks soundproofing; the walls even have cracks so the toilet smell seeps into the room, giving the impression of sleeping in a toilet. The place is clearly in need of repair.

The space is huge, especially when you’re the only guest, like I was. There’s a full kitchen, and in summer you can enjoy the garden and terrace. The area around Dagda is beautiful. Cleanliness was okay. I didn’t like that neither the house nor the bathroom and toilet doors could be locked, which made me feel unsafe as a woman staying alone. The bedroom was warm, but the other rooms stayed a bit chilly despite the small heaters, so I can’t imagine how it would feel in winter.
