The mixed room had many beds but it felt empty; the space was well arranged. The reception only opens from 9 to 16, so whenever I needed something they couldn't help. I checked in online, yet it was still hard to enter the hostel. I had issues with my code and with parking. The messaging system works, but it’s slow when a problem arises.

I loved staying right by the ferry to Magnetic Island; the view of the water from the bed was great and the curtains kept things private. The only downside was the strip between the bed and window, which was dirty with fingernails and debris—quite unpleasant.

The location was good, but the dorm was overcrowded with long‑term backpackers, and at 4 PM I saw naked men strolling through the area—very noisy. After I checked the room, the receptionist had already closed the front desk and wouldn’t talk to me because she had left a few minutes earlier.
